TIFU by ripping away my child's innocence and dropping the Santa bomb on him.

When your kid comes home upset saying someone told them Santa isn’t real, you hear them out, and only when the story has overwhelming evidence you say “Oh my God, that’s so sad….” And just take a moment to look like you heard the most tragic news. Then you follow up with, “This is what happens when Santa stops visiting someone’s house… It can happen because they were on the naughty list too many times or they just stopped believing or they get too old…. but when Santa stops coming to a kid’s house, the parents will usually try to cover for it by pretending to be Santa for as long as they can, but parents aren’t magic and they can’t keep it up, so eventually the kid finds out… And the parents don’t want the kid to know it’s his fault Santa isn’t coming, so they just say it was them the whole time. I knew friends it happened to. It’s sad, but don’t worry… It actually happens with a lot of kids as they get older… Just let them believe whatever they need to, so they can still enjoy Christmas.”
