TIFU by telling my mom I'm an athiest

Since you were raised religious I don’t think what I’m about to suggest will be that hard to understand....

Your mother raised you religious. Hearing your personal revelation is a shocker. For multiple reasons. Imagine putting all of your faith into something, raising you kids on that belief, and then one of your children saying, essentially, I disagree.

It’s shocking, and probably traumatizing if you counted on religion as a tool to raise your child. But there it is. She’s probably wondering where she went wrong (that isn’t narcissist by the way, she’s conditioned to think that way)...best thing you can do is assure her you’re a good person based on how she raised you, not the Bible...

But do it in a way that’s tasteful and convincing lol. Sometimes you can tell white lies to make your family happy. It’s totally ok.
