TIL - In 1987 a jury awarded Michael Donald's mother $7 million in damages against the United Klans of America after 4 members lynched her son in '81 & this settlement bankrupted the organization.

No, not really.

But I did actually grow up on the fringe of a ghetto and went to school with a white minority population. I got to see the double standards surrounding this first hand. You'd hear groups of black people roasting each other with "you're so black.." jokes, but a white kid jumping in with a good one and now they all want to fight over it. Just like the guy in the post above "come to my city talking like that and you'll get killed. Or when you're the only white guy on the basketball team and they've got some gangsta ass tracks blaring in the locker room before a game to get pumped up with and you go to rap along with a verse that has nigga in it, and now they're all fuckin' pissed.

The usage of the word nigga is probably one of the biggest double standards in existence today. Believe it or not, wording it on reddit in a way that victimizes it is a vastly different perspective than actually experiencing the double standard behind it yourself.
