TIL that 71 percent of Americans age 17 to 24 are ineligible to join the military, primarily because they are too overweight or too poorly educated, or they have a record of serious crime or drug abuse.

This kind of news is infuriating but I understand.

I was told that the only chance I had to sign up was if I lied. I suffered a compound fracture on my right forearm(radius and ulna) when I was 14 and suffered a Bankardt and Slap tear in my left my shoulder when I was 18. Both of those injuries labeled me a liability and my own physical capability wasn't even to be considered. Of course I was angry and everyone that had spoken with reminded me that we aren't actually "at war" (in the direct threat sense and despite what the MSM shoves down our throats.

The military has every right to up their standards in times of no conflict and that shouldn't reflect onto civilians by any means.
