TIL about H. Barry Jacobs, a Virginia business man who, in 1983, planned a business to buy and sell human organs on the open market. This led to the creation of the National Organ Transplant Act of 1984, which outlawed selling organs for profit in the United States.

I believe the logical fallacy in your comment is called a false dilemma.

You seem to be implying that there is only one alternative. And in fact, your one alternative isn't even accurate. A counter argument to your alternative is:

which is better? "People having to sell a kidney to survive" (your words), or people not being able to survive, dying, because they can't even sell a kidney to survive.

The alternative to your "alternative" is people dying.

Your second sentence, "Health(care) should simply not be a financial decision." has issues as well, because it's impossible to create an environment where there is no financial component to health(care). Whether you like it or not, there are financial implications to every decision.
