TIL that Andre Agassi, one of the greatest ever male tennis players (and husband of Steffi Graf, one of the greatest ever female tennis players), wrote in his autobiography that "I hate tennis, hate it with a dark and secret passion, and always have"

I am a live sound engineer, and people tell me I'm good at it. I mix bands, musicals, and corporate meetings. People always say "wow, you must love seeing all those shows!" Nah. They're way too loud and I'm constantly surrounded in the crowd by drunks, and backstage by drunks offering me shit nobody in their right mind should touch. No, fuckface, I don't want any crack. Thanks. It's a miserable industry and I don't even like live music enough to make up for it - I can count the number of concerts I've gone to in my life without being paid to be there on one hand. But it paid the bills, until Covid hit, and now I'm looking around to see if maybe there's an industry I can get into where the person responsible for cutting my paycheck does a more reasonable amount of cocaine. The hours are a nice upside, though. But live music sucks.
