TIL of Aurora, an exascale computer that neuroscientists plan to use to make a map of the human brain, or connectome. The brain has more connections than the milky way has stars; mapping it would represent the single largest dataset ever collected about anything in the history of the world.

Once it's done we'll need to take real twins (or lab clones), put them in a controlled environment all their life, and study study study. Only then the fun parts will begin ! Start again and again, and we'll eventually discover the secret of self digitalizing.

After that, we'll need to create virtual worlds to live into, maybe individualized ones to maximize happiness and feeling of control. Since we know the secret of consciousness, we'll add some manufactured virtual human beings to inhabit our worlds, the mumans ! Then, the real world will eventually collapse, but it's ok since our knowledge would have allowed us to disassociate the real time from the time perceive in our v-worlds. Millennia after millennia, all those things would be forgotten, all humans will be killed by mumams in the v-worlds similar to our own. Those mumans will start going through all this process gain, and again, and again. Creating an endless chain of human like (more or less) societies, building a never ending spiral of sadness and happiness, while dumbing down the very essence of consciousness.
