TIL that the Australian Professional Women's Soccer team once lost a match 7-0 to an amateur team of 15 year-old boys

Yep. See also in tennis, the Australian Open in '98. Venus & Serena Williams claimed they could beat any male player outside of the Top 200. Karsten Braasch, a German dude ranked 203rd and known for smoking on the court and a love of drinking, beat Serena (6-1, at one point being 5-0) and then Venus (6-2) handily.

Braasch later said he intentionally did not play at his best, and Venus & Serena later 'adjusted' their claim that they could beat any male player ranked outside the Top 350.

My favourite battle of the sexes in tennis, though, was a few years later, when 42-year-old Frenchman and retired pro Yannick Noah played against China's Li Na, a young up-and-comer who would go on to peak at #2 in the world. Noah won sticking mostly to slices and trick shots, and dressed like this for the game.
