TIL The Aztecs routinely sacrificed children to their God of Rain, Tlaloc. They believed their tears would bring rain, so they sometimes tortured them to make them cry more, even taking out their nails. Parents saw it as an honour for their children to be sacrificed.

Uh yes. Life is not perfect where the Aztecs used to live, which is now under Catholicism. But AT LEAST nobody thinks you get rain by sacrificing children and that is specifically prohibited by the Bible. It's an improvement.

Yes. Christianity is better than some silly rain God. Exactly because it prohibits the sacrifice of children.

That does not mean it prohibits everything people shouldn't do. It is BETTER. Not perfect.

We await the end of days when things will be perfected. For the moment they are just better. Only better.

You can surely admit it is better to not sacrifice children. A very common practice all over in many times and places. That's WORSE.
