TIL the Bible contains a passage where it says it became dark in daytime during the crucifixion of Jesus. NASA discovered a total eclipse did actually occur in Jerusalem on 24 November 29 CE at around 11AM. This fact got dismissed by the Church because the date is not in accordance with Easter.

Okay, first off you need to know what a scientific theory is, it does not mean what you are using it as. In science an idea starts as a hypothesis which may or may not be true, this is basically what you are saying a theory is, but that is not true. As a hypothesis is tested and evidence is gathered and you find that evidence backs up the hypothesis being true, the hypothesis graduates to theory, which is the highest goal of science.

If you remember nothing else from this conversation remember this:NOTHING IN SCIENCE IS PROVEN MORE THAN THEORY.

Okay, so there is a lot of evidence for the big bang, you have galactic red shift meaning the galaxies are moving apart, if you reverse that then they must have been closer together in the past, go back far enough and they all come to one point. There is the distribution of light elements, and most importantly, the smoking gun, is the Cosmic microwave background radiation. Google CMBR and you can actually physical pictures of it, the first light in the universe (this is possible because light takes time to travel so when we look out into space we see things as they were when the light left, but in some cases billions of years has passed since then.)

Quarks are a type of subatomic particle, scientists work with them all the time at the LHC, we have seen the effects of black holes and while we don't know much about them, we see their interactions with nearby objects and light. While many hypotheses exist about how the form exactly (we know they come from large supernova explosions but there is some debate to the exact conditions) they most definitely exist as they effect things around them they we can observe and measure. A quasar is believed to be the accretion disk around an actively feeding black hole, this is also based on observation and evidence. Worm holes and white holes are not proven, and no scientist will claim to have observed or proven they exist. Those are hypotheses, they have not successfully traversed the scientific method so no one believes they are true, just that they are possible. That is not faith since no active belief exists.

I'm sure I butchered a bit of the science but the point remains.
