TIL both Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) and DMT experiences leave people with similar long-term positive changes in psychological well-being: greater concern for others, reduced fear of dying, increased appreciation for nature, reduced interest in social status and possessions, increased self-worth.

I'd caution everyone here about talking in absolutes. Send a lot of people are implying that using these drugs guarantees improvements.

They don't.

Some people (like myself) will always revert back to the way we were before. Sure, I've experienced the same things using DMT & other drugs that people here report, understood the cosmic giggle, faced death, dissolution, the extreme physical pain of being ripped to shreds, communicated directly with the Mother, etc., but nothing ever sticks. Help is always very short term.

And yes, I'm doing a whole lot of other work, not just psychedelics. Drugs alone are never the answer.

I find it frustrating to hear people talk about how these drugs WILL do this or DO do that. I believe it's dangerous. Lots of people desperately seeking help turn to psychedelics, and the results are not always so great. People get worse depression, worse anxiety, and even kill themselves after psychedelic use.

I'd love to see people talk about these drugs with more caution. They're extremely powerful. Not to be thought about lightly.
