TIL a bunch of Harry Potter fans built a legitimate cult-like religion called Snapeism, based on the idea that Severus Snape was an immortal deity whose spirit inspired JK Rowling to write the Harry Potter books

I'm not angry; she already ruined the future of her franchise by doing stupid things like these. HP is just a nice childhood memory, and that's all. Not a problem with Dumbledore being gay, as it's plausible. Now say Hermione was actually black (when she is described, drawn and portrayed as a white girl), and we have a problem. Or make an obviously cis character (hmm... literally everyone) a trans. That just makes no sense. Wanna pander to the trans community? Make a new novel with a trans protagonist. Don't modify already existing ones. It makes suspension of desbelief way too hard. Like when they just erased Crabbe (or was it Goyle?) and replaced him with some guy. That was a shitty move from their part...
