Indian entrance requirements


  • Class XII examinations from the CBSE and ISC examination boards followed by the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) are considered suitable preparation for Engineering, Natural Sciences, Computer Science and Chemical Engineering at Cambridge.

  • Class XII examinations from the CBSE and ISC examination boards followed by the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) would be suitable preparation for Economics.

  • Candidates who are not taking the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination are also welcome to apply for Economics but in such cases, any offer from Kings may be conditional on performance in STEP examinations.

  • Indian CBSE or ISC Class XII examinations would not be sufficient to make a competitive application to Kings for the following courses: Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic; Archaeology; Architecture; Asian and Middle Eastern Studies; Classics; English; Geography; History; History and Modern Languages; History and Politics; History of Art; Human, Social and Politcal Sciences; Law; Linguistics; Medicine; Modern and Medieval Languages; Music; Philosophy; Psychological and Behavioural Sciences; Theology, Religion & Philosophy of Religion.
