TIL David Letterman created a scholarship for the average "C student," recognizing that it's not all about marks, some are extraordinary and amazing in other ways.

I wish someone would create a scholarship for people with ADHD. I dropped out of a top tier school after 3 years of watching my grades see-saw. The mental anguish was unbearable. I couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with me, and thought it was just about being depressed, or homesick, or lacking motivation, etc. I still haven't been diagnosed, but I am almost certain that I have ADHD. Just looking back and thinking about how much heartbreak and failure this has caused in my life, and all the opportunities I squandered because I just couldn't focus, I really feel for kids who are going through what I did. And I know there are probably tons of them out there.

As for why I haven't been diagnosed. Long story short, I've mostly learned to cope with it on my own. From what I've read, and heard from people who have been diagnosed, there are drugs that help somewhat, but much of the treatment of ADHD boils down to learning various coping strategies. Which I've already done on my own, the hard way.
