TIL David Prowse, the actor who portrayed Darth Vader (in form, not voice), is banned from attending official Star Wars conventions because George Lucas finds him annoying.

Let me stop you right there, friend. I know we're trying to hash out whether Peter Mayhew was having a bad day or is, in fact, a little bit dickish to fans in person (on occasion).

However, Val Kilmer is on an entirely different level. Fuck, dude, he's not even in the same zip code. Val Kilmer is on fucking Mars.

(I cannot prove any of this and I won't try. Take it for what it's worth.)

I've lived and worked with a couple of people who've done movies with Kilmer and the stories they pass around are fucking legendary, man. LEGENDARY He has to be the single, biggest fucking asshole Hollywood has ever produced. One morning, the director has just arrived on-set. Kilmer is already there, fucking about outside his trailer, sees the director. Walks up to the director with a smile and a hand extended like he's just greeting him to say "good morning". Director, naturally thinks goes to take it. Instead, Kilmer pulls away and kicks him as hard as he can in the testicles.

Yes. Kilmer started that day of work with his director by faking a "good morning" and then kicking him as hard as he could in the balls. And while the director was almost in tears, writhing in pain on the ground, Kilmer was doubled over in hysterics. And because its Kilmer, and he's the star and technically less replaceable than the director - no one could do anything but watch in silently in horror while Kilmer just pointed and laughed.

I would've thought this story was total bullshit. There's no way an actor as accomplished as Val Kilmer would engage in such juvenile chicanery - except this story was coming straight out of that director's mouth. And I had other people who could directly confirm that it happened. Said director had to essentially just take it, get up, and continue on with the day once he recovered - because his career depended on it.

That's Val Kilmer, folks.
