There's every evolutionary reason for humans to be able to quickly and accurately tell the sexes apart, just like for every other animal.

It's not just the obvious things like clothing, hair and visible breasts and hips but also the combination of height, body proportions, limb length, gait, movements, mannerisms etc that our brains put together, synthesise and which usually allow us to identify someone as a man or woman without conscious thought almost instantaneously.

exactly what "height, body proportions, limb length, gait, movements, and mannerisms" belong specifically to men and women and what does she think of the cis men and women who don't fit into the traditional statistics ? is she as unsure and uncomfortable with them as she apparently is with transgender men and women ?

I think this is the reason why the rare truly androgynous appearing individual does catch our attention because our brains can't quickly decide which sex they are and we have to consciously consider them.
