TIL that every time an alcoholic relapses then quits again, the withdrawal symptoms get worse. It's called the kindling effect.

I've been in treatment four times, I don't need anyone to tell me how it works, I know. But now that you've clarified that your withdrawals were worse at the point you drank the most, then I understand what you mean. But your claim that this post isn't true because your withdrawals were less when you were drinking less or mixing drugs with it is ridiculous.

Most alcoholics don't have the ability to regulate their drinking. This is probably the least controversial idea in the field of addiction. So my point was that for most people, this post will be true because every time they relapse they will go back to their original drinking amount if not more.
