TIL that exercise does not actually contribute much to weight loss. Simply eating better has a significantly bigger impact, even without much exercise.

I have a degree in Exercise Physiology and am a practicing personal trainer. Please do not follow any advice or tips from this thread. 99.9999% of it is personal experience garbage. If you have any questions feel free to blow up my inbox and I will answer as best as I can when I am on the can..

Things to know.... ANY increase in exercise in a sedentary person even without a change in diet will result in not only feeling better but weight loss. The calculations everyone is doing is something I would teach to a 10 year old. It makes sense that this is the information people have googled and feel like it gives them a platform to give advice online... Yes... there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat, no there is no direct relation to eating less than 500 calories a day and actually losing a pound of fat. Math works out well, your body doesn't agree as much. It is a system most nutritionists set up and use because it makes a calorie goal tangible to most clients.

TL:DR your body is complicated, no one on here is an expert if you are interested in actual science don't listen to these idiots and find a professional.
