TIL a German filmmaker once asked Carthusian monks for permission to film a documentary of their lives. They responded affirmatively 16 years later and the film took 5 more years to complete.

  • technology was and is thrown back over and over because religious nuts (yeah, yeah, there are some religious scientists, but was their goal to proof god or to decode a bit more of nature in order to solve problems? I prefer problem solvers!)
  • they prey on mental weak ppl or at least on mental weaknesses, their views reads like a todo-list of human fallacies, the bible for example reads like a huge feedback loop by someone on drugs, but yeah just an opinion.
  • maybe another opinion, but wasnt religion always about "morale"? you know, they "contribution" to society? like in their view, no person ever could do anything good, because they are not believing. mental health? psychology? ethics? pfff, here pray the gay away...
  • im still waiting for any new "invention" their not-company is comming up, they wanna be in one of the oldest professions? why not offer hookers too! "fuck a nun, just 9,99!" theres captialism for you... you you think that goes together well?

  • how many wars have been started because of some religion?

  • a normal brewer or distiller simply does his job, he doesnt need an extra worldview for it
