Another similar event recalled by an American vet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf_4FCUJK1c

TL;DW: US soldier got shot, crawled to a tree, and passed out. When he came to hours later, two Germans were approaching him. One of them was a medic and they tried to pick him up and move him, but he was too badly wounded, so they laid him on the medic's coat and dragged him to a nearby cabin. The German medic treated his wound as best he could and then asked him for his dog tags and if he knew where a nearby US aid station was. The German then set off to find the US aid station and eventually returned with US medics in a Jeep. The German medic was taken prisoner and the US soldier never saw him again, never learned the German's medic's name either.
