TIL Neerja Bhanot, an air stewardess on Pan-Am 73 saved 41 American lives by hiding their passports, alerted the flight crew to escape, showed passengers on how to escape and then stayed behind to ensure everyone got off, then died saving three children from the terrorists. A true heroine.

(i'll keep it broad so it'll give you a more of an idea on the middle east).

The countries in the middle east after ww2 and post Ottoman empire, were split and their borders were drawn (knowingly) that different groups and sections will constantly be fighting each other or have trouble with their stability.

Now in the case of Pakistan, it was under British rule (as India) and when it was split it was known that they would be constantly fighting w/ each other (specifically Kashmir region). As well as the region on the south west of Pakistan, (Can't spell but it's the portion where terrorists are frequently populating).

I can go in depth of Pakistan being created, help of Britian etc.. but do you get what i'm trying to say here? As of now the Govt. does work well with Western Nation like fighting again those guys in the OP, doing what needs to be done etc..However the other problems within the nation of Pakistan is keeping it unstable from actually unifying and actually finding solutions to their problem. (Why do politicians that want to make a difference die in Pakistan)

My last point is, do you think our Wester Nations would allow a country like Pakistan to have nukes if we didn't trust them?

tl;dr but to answer your question Britian has a strong influence on Pakistan

sidenote: Saw intresting documentary on how there are news and shows on TV of Pakistani military fighting Al Quada, however when the townspeople were interviewed they all said that this is garbage, the media makes it appear like the govt. are making massive strides against this but in reality they aren't doing anything.

In my opinion they should: - Stop the focus on Kashmir - Remove or isolate the Terrorist region (they gain nothing from having it) - Make peace with India - Focus on improving the country and removing the corruption

.....as soon as attempts are made the leader of that is usually killed
