TIL That Nissan Made a Supercharged, Hybrid Pathfinder, Only for the 2014 Model Year in the U.S.

They’re great for people that don’t like fun. The average commuter that would be equally happy in a Sentra or similar but want to appear to care about the environment (whilst ignoring the effects of lithium mining) are the perfect customer for them. They even get impressive specs on paper to impress fellow non car people. For people who enjoy rowing gears and building engines they’re awful to drive. You can’t debate the perks of a turbo or supercharger within their communities, there is no worrying about what cam you want to order. The power delivery is miserable as they don’t rev, there’s no shifting, they sound like my blender having a bad day and everyone’s got exactly the same capabilities. There is no technique or skill involved in driving them as torque is limited by traction- hold the brake and gas, release brake and whoever is in the better lane or on stickier tires wins. EVs are inherently soulless.
