TIL not everyone is like me

You know, our culture tells us we are all variations of the same theoretical "normal" person, and so everyone ends up projecting themselves onto others. This causes us to see each other for what we are not, instead of what we are, and that is neither flattering or useful. When I was in college, I wrote a paper for my psychology class called "Sexism in Psychological Research". Basically, the definition of a mentally healthy adult was the same as the definition of a mentally healthy man, and by definition, adult women were mentally ill. This was decades ago, and supposedly we know better these days. But we don't. Recently, I read a new definition of a mentally healthy adult. Wanna guess? The ability to screen out "unnecessary information" and focus on the task at hand. This is both laughable and sad, where do I begin?
