TIL that only 30-50% of people have an “inner monologue”

I'm able to think in words and pictures. I always assumed everyone else was as well.

How else do you know how to do things? For instance, I can run a scenario through my head visualize how it will play out to know if it will work or not.

I.E Will a ball rolling down a hill pick up speed or slow down.

My wife cannot do this. So she basically has to try various concepts, see how they play out, then pick the best one. I can basically do this in my head.

Totally blown away. I thought every human could do this.

I am left handed, so it makes me wonder if I have the ability to access both parts of my brain at the same time? Versus being dominate on one side or the other.

I'm terrible at math though.
