TIL People who post their fitness routine to Facebook are more likely to have psychological problems.

I am really active with working out. I do classes and work out on my own. I NEVER post my workouts or accomplishments.

Seriously, who the fuck cares? You don't care. My family doesnt care. My friends don't care. The guy on FB who I haven't seen in 10 years doesn't care either. Until I'm breaking records or having another misc remarkable achievement I'm not posting anything about it.

The people who do post about it annoy me to no end. What about your kids? What about family accomplishments or activities? What's important to me is my family. That's it. I don't post anything about my job (which is firefighting, and holy shit do firefighters LOVE to post/talk about the job), I post very little about the military or my military service (another thing that veterans love to do) and I just keep posting to whats important to me, my young kids new accomplishments, progress and cute moments that my family wants to see. My family knows I workout. My family knows I am a firefighter. My family knows I am a veteran. My family does not know the newest news on the youngest members of our family and they are interested in it, ergo I post it.

I don't make social media about me. I make it about what people either want to see or what's critical that I post. That's my guidelines. If my family stops asking me to post kid updates and pics I'll stop.

The narcissism and demand for positive reinforcement via semi strangers on FB is sad.
