TIL that people with depression may have a more realistic view of the world. This theory is called Depressive Realism.

I don't agree. People perceive reality through senses differently. I'm colorblind, and find people have a certain fascination with something as common as colors. It's all based on our senses and measurements with tools. The quality and workings of sense and instrument change how reality is perceived. Even when defining colors as the wavelength of light, and calling red 680 nm, it's only objectively based off the tools measurements, and different tools can have different results.

I don't find it odd, because I manage in life. Other humans can't see ultra-violent or infrared light, but we can see them with tools. I use tools to see the common colors most humans see. Reality is only "objective" through abstract concepts of consensus.

If "reality" is perception, it's not objective. If "reality" is the organization of atoms and energy in our universe, you could say it's objective, but quantum mechanics throw a wrench into that idea too, because by perceiving it, you alter the outcome. It leads credence to the idea that reality is subjective.
