TIL SC said "we don't know how long India will remain a secular country" in response to a petition demanding recognition of Canon law.

Surya Namaskar done without the mantras is not a Hindu ritual, is a part of Yoga exercises which can be completely decontextualized from religion.

The wiki and all other sources on the Internet completely disagrees with you.

I'm not going to explain it to you as to why Sun saluting or Yoga is a strict NO to the followers of Abrahamic religions because you're NEVER going to understand it and by saying that I'm not implying that you're incapable of deep understanding or anything, all I'm saying is that from a Dharmic point of view into which you were born and raised, the meaning of certain Abrahamic concepts will continue to elude you and many others here which is obvious from all the misunderstanding that is going on here.

That's the whole point SC was trying to make. You missed it entirely and went in the opposite direction.

I agree with what the SC did back then and I'd welcome the UCC but as now, given the over zealous push by promote Hindutva onto others at the same time denying and suppressing people of their own beliefs, now that is the problem I have, Islamic & Biblical rules need to trumped by UCC then same needs to apply to Hinduism meaning the Gita, the beef ban, Sun Salute, etc need to kept with in the hearts of its followers.

hear azans every day 5 times a day or are forced to involuntarily pay for Hajj of a religion you probably don't like.

I don't mind the ban of loud speaker of the azaans but the ban also needs to apply to temples and churches. The Azaan stays for not more than 15 mins for the 5 prayer calls in a day, compare it to the hours and hours of loud chantings of temples or hymns from churches at equally louder sounds. Guess which ones needs to go first!

The govt. spends crores of rupees arranging the khumb melas, isn't everyone paying those taxes too. why single out any religion, all of them are guilty of it.
