TIL A tech job listing is more than 20 times likelier to perform poorly if it includes the phrase "drug-free workplace."

A few weeks? Man, if its a piss test and you infrequently use weed, you should be clear in a few days. At one point I would smoke a dab of wax every night for years. I had to to take a piss test to get a prescription for amphetamines (cheap insurance and a big-box doc shop, finally doing something about having ADHD) and I was good after 4 days drinking lots of water.

Hell, the testing environment was so lax I probably could have brought a friend with me to pee in the cup and nobody would have noticed either.

That said, if I were more financially stable (working on it) and I was randomly tested, I would probably take the test, wait for them to get the pass reported and quit. Id tell them I wasn't going to be treated like a child and put in my 2 weeks. I work in easy tier-1 IT job and yes, most people I work with get blitzed off the clock. I just basically get tweaked on the clock, but I have all the paperwork to do so legally and therefore the lab can't report a fail for amphetamines without me being able to sue the shit out of them (PHI).

Granted, I kinda had to choose between amphetamines or weed, at least until I find a better doctor, but at least I have my shit together on speed and can't get in trouble for using it.

I just think the reasoning is BS in most jobs that I could throw back some adderall in front of management and tell them its just something Im prescribed, get tested, and continue working while tweaking if I take more than I usually do while another person that hit a bong 2 days prior at a new years party can get canned even if both of us are performing the same while on the job. This shit has to change.
