This logic may apply to certain classes but doesn’t extend to things like math. Diversity of discussion doesn’t change the answer to a calculus problem.
I understand the ease of “white male bad” arguments, but how does this apply when it comes to suppressing the admission of Asians, for example?
I grew up in India quite literally dirt poor, but got into CalTech because I taught myself electrical engineering and programming at home.
Why did I have to score an entire standard deviation above an average white applicant for the same chances at admission, while another group can score a standard deviation below this average and have the same chances of admission?
Saw what you want about systemic injustice and opportunity, but I can tell you that they didn’t have to sew their own pillowcases and sleep above a dirt floor. Didn’t stop me or people like me, who come from extremely “disadvantaged” backgrounds and uneducated households, from outperforming.
