TIL that when Dakota Meyer was contacted to arrange a time to inform him that his case for the Medal of Honor had been approved, the caller was told that Meyer was working at his construction job and were asked to call again during his lunch break.

You know what Trump wasn't, Pre-Campaign? Who he is now. He isn't the same guy who did Trump Steaks. He isn't the same guy who showed Kevin where to go in Home Alone 2. He's gotten older... and he's clearly changed.

Not really. He started disagreeing with your Orthodoxy. The pope loved Henry VIII when he was attacking Luther.

Because while he surely HAD to be pretty affable and good with people to do what he did with his empire... he clearly has lost that, over the years.

Clearly to whom?

I remember Trump from my youth, what little I remember of him. He had a sense of humor. He seemed nice. But he doesn't seem like the same guy who's our POTUS now.

I guarantee you I've watched and attended more of his rallies than you have. I, and literally millions of others, think he has a fantastic sense of humor. Trump, when you're not watching carefully edited clips, is funny and remarkably self effacing.

Again, your vision of Trump is before he pissed off the people who make the videos you've seen.

Also, the point of my paragraph was that Dakota's request IS and WAS entirely unprecedented, so saying "Ah, but Trump would totally do it, because he does this all the time!" is silly.

Sorry, I must have been confusing. I don't think trump does it all the time, as you say, it was a one off thing. I was giving examples of time when Trump has sat down with people. Of course it's not the same, but OP was saying that it seemed unbelievable trump WOULD.

After all, unlike Kim, an American Hero wouldn't be someone he is required to meet with to stop a potential world war.

All the other presidents managed to avoid meeting him. Kinda doesn't feel necessary.

I'd also point out that if this was literally anyone else since the end of the Korean war, he'd be a shoo in for the Nobel. Compare it to the Camp David Accords or the Oslo Accords.

At least with Obama it didn't feel like every time he did something, it was a political move (I mean, it WAS a political move, don't get me wrong, I'm not naive, it just didn't FEEL like one) to the point that yeah...

Always felt that way to me because I didn't like him.

You keep talking about the man Trump WAS, as if that matters. And every time I point out that... things are different now... you go further back. I suppose next, you're going to tell me how he was voted "most popular" in his high school year book?

No I'm pointing out that he was elected president.

And that lots of people seem to strongly disagree with you.

Now it's possible this is mass delusion, but there are a lot more cases of people blinded by politics than there are cases of mass delusion.
