At a time our own society is tearing down toxic symbols from the past and looking to forge better stories to improve society this story about a society trying to change by telling itself a better story seems relevant

I don't care about Confederate monuments. Take them all down peacefully as far as I'm concerned.

I am not onboard for this "revolution". It's violent and anarchic and has hurt too many innocent people. There seems to be no end in sight. For the record, I hated OWS for the same reason. A lot of the same people were involved in both.

You supported violent property destruction in the title of this thread and have been joined by many others who are more extreme in their support of violence. That is what I have a problem with.

I am not bowing in obeisance to a new Cultural Revolution that supports violence. And when violence in my neighborhood that hurt innocent people is proclaimed as justified, I will speak out against it.

Does that make me a bad person? Apparently so. But I am not obligated to support BLM or Antifa or OWS or anyone else who seeks to get their way through hurting other people. I don't even have to support nonviolent protest movements like the Women's March.

I am an independent person who does not like violence. That is all.
