Time To Settle This...

Honestly, I felt like it was all a good time with laughs and comedy that didn’t have any weight until the Stolen Century. On my first listen through particularly, there were points where the drama didn’t exactly hit with me because it was treated kind of like a joke. I get that it’s a comedy podcast and I have laughed until I cried at it, but there were times when it was clearly supposed to mean something when it just fell flat for me (when they joked immediately after THAT scene with Sloane and Hurley, I almost quit the podcast). That is until the Stolen Century, with less jokes and more serious tones that reeled me in (just a matter of preference). It is heavily criticized and I understand why, but I cannot describe exactly what I feel in my heart after listening to the arc and reaching the last episode. If I even hear the song Forgetting, my heart gets this really weird heavy sensation, and I am not being dramatic. I think the fleshing out of the characters and exploring the bonds and detailing the struggle they went through made me feel for the PCs as I hadn’t the entire show. And then afterwards, I felt for the NPCs like never before because of what they meant to the PCs. I could go on about it but I don’t want to go more over the top than I already have. I know to the people who don’t like this arc I probably look childish, but after this specific part of the show I wanted to relisten to it all again with what happened in mind and just realize these little hints and accidental foreshadowing. It’s my favorite and I absolutely can’t wait until it is adapted into a graphic novel.
