Why Is the Timeless Child Bad To You?

The timeless child on it’s own is original. Making the doctor be the timeless child isn’t, it’s a tired cliche. Look, if it had been planned from the beginning to make the doctor be this special person, I might be a little more okay with it but I would still call it derivative. Making up this special person after fifty-seven years and just letting the doctor be that special person is the most predictable, uninspired idea they could have come up with.

I feel like you think I don’t like the timeless child idea on its own. I’m okay with everything about it other than the fact that it’s the doctor. Making it the doctor honestly lessens both the show itself and the idea of the timeless child to me. Learning about gallifrey’s dark past sounds very interesting, but forcibly shoehorning the doctor into that dark past despite very little foreshadowing to that effect throughout almost the entire rest of the series just feels like an attempt to force a gasp out of the viewer.
