I'm sorry if you think I'm making excuses. I've been told I sometimes see more good in other people than is actually there. In this case, maybe I'm ascribing better motives to the majority of feminists than they actually have.

I just find it hard to believe that most women who claim the title "feminist" are actually man-hating hypocrites with so little self-awareness. In my experience, the type in this post and in the sensationalized media are a loud minority.

Most feminists I've met have better, simpler goals, like, "I don't want my family to be treated differently because my husband stays home with the kids while I work," or, "I want to be able to advance in my field with the same respect and professionalism shown to my male colleagues," and even, "I don't want to be afraid to report being raped because I think I'll be blamed for someone else's actions."
