This tiny piglet

I think you are right about the humane aspect. One saying that always stuck with me "How do you humanely kill something that does not want to die".

I think we are way too disconnected from the realities of where our food comes from and that has greatly erroded our respect and appreciation for (food) animals in general - this is where I feel frustrated, because we know better but treat them like shit on an industrial scale because.. $. I'm all for lab grown meat and substitutes when that has yielded enough scientific data and has become available to the masses. But as the rest of the world catches up with a growing middle class and their demand for meat, I believe this is one of the concerns we must address right now; that we need to treat livestock with genuine care and respect. We need to create a sustainable narrative for how food is produced.

Humans have been consuming meat for tens of thousands of years until this point. And honestly, I'm excited for how far humans have developed since we are soon able to change a very essential part of being a predator. But until then, treat that shit right and do not eat more than you need. Oh and fuck commerical animal farms for perpetuating an unhealthy mass demand on meat.
