Tip your waiters

The way restaurants work in the US is kinda fucked up. If you don't tip, not only does the server not get paid ($2.13/hr is federal minimum wage for tipped employees), but they often have to pay out of pocket to "tip out" the bartenders, bussers, etc. So they're actually paying for serving you when you stiff them.

The person could be having an off day. Maybe nobody told them they had a table. Maybe they got triple-sat at the same time you sat down. Who knows!

I don't really agree with the tipping culture we have here, but I'm also not going to try to "punish" somebody out of their livelihood because I didn't get perfect service, ya know? I went out to eat expecting to leave the tip, so I'm just gonna leave it regardless.
