I’m wondering though if you have any additional tips on working with strong piti when using you option #1 approach? I’m definitely falling into that obstacle you alluded to where piti is so tempestuous that it obscures the finer details of the breath.
My current tactic is to continually reform the intention to attend to breath sensations only, thus basically ignoring energy movements - and this has some effect, but often the piti is just overwhelming and my efforts to ignore it can feel like I’m battling it rather than accepting its presence. It seems like a fine line. Is this effectively a problem of craving?
