hi i have over 200h+ played adom in still only 1times completed game =(
When should I read scrolls?
scrolls are common use them if they helps
What should I be focusing on to progress further in the game?
for me i start game as follow (most times) 1.small cave (only visit to spawn the lvl and leave)
caverns of chaos and early game start to be over there is lots to do after you are in dwarf town.
How should I build my character, if I roll a 'non physical class' (healer, priest, mind bender, etc.)? - dont know did i understand right your question. - most class give you everyting you need to survive. - spell casters need good literacy and consentration in start - everybody need good healing =) - everybody need to use melee even wizards ps. healer is most physical class in game =/ insane healing and constitution.
Is taking a weapon spec talent early worth it? How do you pick your weapon?
every weapon is doable and lots debends what you find in game, so hard to say.
keep in mind there is few good garanteed artifact weapons in game what are easy to get. like runecovered trident(spear), Big Punch(hammer) or Rolf's Companion(axe)
weapon skills go fast until lvl10 when they slow down a lot. and lvl 10 is already dam good so i dont see reason to limit your self only to sword if you find good hammer use it.
i rarely get weapon talent if im not archer.
Is there an exit for the first dungeon near spawn?
no it is 3 lvl trainig dungeon, good place for mist elfs and other weak dudes to grap few lvl
