Hi, I live in Bamberg. As far as restaurants, my favorites in/around the inner city are: German: Zum Sternla, Spezial (I don´t like their beer), Fässla, Weiss Bier Haus, Thombosi (a dive of a place near the bus station with incredible food), Weinfass Cafes: Hofcafe, Base Coffee (out of inner city, near Erba Park), my ultimate favorite is Stadt Proviant, Cafe Müller (on Ausstrasse, not the one same name Grüner Markt) is a close second. Parks- there are really two main. Hain (close to inner city) is lovely, but Erba (outside of city center) is really, really nice with lots of different areas (grassy knolls, creeks, woodsy areas, play areas for kids, volleyball courts, trampolines in the ground). If you have kids- I´d go to Erba.
