Tips on how to stay motivated to finish games?

I kinda disagree. There is something rewarding about pushing through the slower moments to experience the great narrative at the end.

I just finished Ragnarok yesterday. There were a few times I got bored. If I had let my lizard brain take over, I never would've finished. But I persevered (sometimes I took a weeklong break here and there) and I experienced an amazing end game and a complete narrative as a reward.

I know it's leisure, but I do still think leisure pursuits should be something that contributes to your overall strength of character rather than detracts from it. Pushing through slightly boring spots of a great game builds character more than quitting.

That said-- if you know you hate the game, stop. This only applies to games you know are good, you're just losing momentum on.
