I just wanna add something I will add as an edit to the main post: I "tried" or "used" this subreddit for weeks/months. I have been looking through so many posts and sending messages where maybe 30% answer. I am not sure why they do not answer, most of the time I also look through posts that were posted like 4 or 5 days ago. You rarely get a answer. I do not introduce myself in the pm, I just send a small brief text asking whether he or she has something like Skype,kik,telegram or anything similiar.
Most of them just don't answer and I am often upset if I sent 5 messages the last evening and after 3 days there is still no reply from anyone. Sometimes you do have luck though and you acutally find people that answer and really want to have a conversation. For me personally I look for people that are 2 years older or younger than myself. Sometimes up to 4 because I sometimes believe that there still could be a person that could fit but that could be humbug. Then I also look at hobbys. Does he have matching hobbies or similiar interests? I also consider the way it is written. I do not want a 3 liner. That is too short for me. I do not get many information about the person and most of these 3 liners dont seem to answer anyway. I want a "detailed" post about yourself, giving me information about you. At this point I am not sure which kind of information. I mean hobbies seem to be the most considerable ones. Because that is stuff you can talk about and exchange about. I like posts that contain some feelings or thoughts about things because that gives you a small image of that person or how it thinks or behaves.
Most of the conversations are starting pretty lame.

This would be a horrendous example but you maybe just add some words more and you find your last conversation here. Just maybe with different topics or other usage of words.
And then it somewhat stops. Just nobody putting effort into it anymore with and the chat is still there in your app or wherever it might be and stays there. You browse again and message again 5 people and maybe there is another one where same old conversation starts again where the only difference is that it is a different person.
