'Tired of eating arroz and frijoles,' 17-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. determined to help family through UFC career

Right. But you’re doing it a couple times a year, don’t have benefits like health insurance, risking career ending (and life changing) injuries, and putting any other education or training opportunities on ice while you complete.

If someone offered me 20-30k right now, of course I’d take it.

If they offered me 20-30k and told me this is the only sum of money I would make once or twice a year for the next ten years, might fuck myself up permanently, and I wouldn’t have time to learn how to do anything else to make money during that time period, I’d laugh them out of the room.
