TLDR: Garrisons = Realism = Tactics = Fun

That still requires players to actively go and rebuild them (assuming the recon didn't kill their supplies, in which case two of them need to coordinate to go back), or the commander to drop supplies (in which case I know what's going on and can go stop it, most of the time). In both cases it takes the attention of players away from the fight and makes it a bit easier for each garrison removed.

I know you loved your old meta of cheesing objectives with garrisons, but I'm personally soooo glad that's dead. I even liked the second version where you couldn't kill garrisons back >2 sectors back because you didn't have to worry so much about sitting in the middle of nowhere and trying to find the random 2-4 guys that would be behind you, but I see the current version as a fair compromise.
