Today is the 29th aniversary of the highly censored Tiananmen square massacre. Never forget.

Just out of curiosity, have you lived in China for an extended amount of time before? Or do you have a wide range or sources confirming or supporting your argument? Cause I'll need a source on

content to get basic necessities to live, sacrificing their rights and freedoms. authoritarian dystopic society From my experience of living in China, I feel as free and full as I do in America. Millions of people in China already have anti-China groups on knock-offs such as weibo, and they aren't being pulled out of their houses and executed. And even if it was a law (to massacre dissidents, that is), simply, no one in the government cares enough or have low enough morals to do such a thing (This is the situation now, clearly the not same 30 years ago). China is just another country with cities full of working and thinking people, not an oppressive and authoritarian society you're describing. In fact, no one really gives a damn about anything they say or post online. Now, in no way am I justifying the horrific atrocity the government has done, nor am I saying China is a perfect non-communist society, but I am here to say that your comment is extremely misleading, as you are describing your own fabrication of an unfamiliar country based off either incorrect or irrelevant info. All this is based off personal experience, so in no way am I the most obligated person to talk about the issue. However, I am far more obligated to talk about it than u/EndlessEnds is, whos likely based his info off world news that glorifies all the wrongs in other countries, in the same way foreigners will think the USA is all about school shootings, rather than experiencing it first hand.
