Today is the 3rd day of the rest of my life! Retired last week thanks to FIRE

life is far too short to get bored

I agree, but even things like finding love, starting a business and publishing a book cost money and are normally less risky to do when you have a steady income to fall back on until those things work out.

Life is not "boring" as long as you are doing things you enjoy, but the bottom line is most of those things will cost you money and as you get older you may realize that the "free things" in life are not quite as fulfilling long term as you expected. Other things such as traveling the world, raising kids, etc, are part of life's journey as a human being and will change your mindset as a person to help you to "evolve" to the next level in life -- only problem is again these things cost money.

On a personal level I'm weary of how my life would become if I stopped beating my fucking head against the wall every day for a paycheck. Can't wait to find out, though! Congrats by the way, I'm not trying to shit on your amazing success by any means.
