Today, I was insulted for picking up trash from the street.

Recently at a restaurant with my old aunt, she had trouble picking up her glass of milk it was too heavy, the glass was thick. She wanted to order a new lighter cup and I was like flabbergasted think of the waste, even if they kept the same milk it would be another glass to clean. The energy, the fucking energy! I suggested she get a straw. She looked at my quizzically and smiled, like at a child. She got her new glass. Probably the straw would be worse, plastic single-use fish-gill trash.

How can we function in a world where trivial action is sinister on the scale of the Holocaust or worse. It's total insanity. This is why this forum can be toxic, the daily reminders make it difficult to function. This is why taking positive action, like picking up someone's trash, is mentally healing - you are doing something it doesn't matter what or how little, it is an act of rebellion against the inaction and paralysis we are constantly told "do nothing".
