Today it's Nicholas Winding Refn 48th birthday. Here's how the “Drive” director uses sound to create the visceral tone of his films

ok go look at how many great movies came out of collaborations between directors and studios

most of them are usually not blockbusters lmao

it's absurd to you because you are unable to see things from a different perspective

no it's absurd because calling people stubborn for wanting to have freedom on set is really dumb :/

uhhh sorry that other directors like jj abrams, coogler, waititi (the list goes on) are able to take a 100 mil budget

i'd say coogler and waititi styles are a little different than a director known for making violent crime dramas and stuff like only god forgives and the neon demon lol.

um are you just blindly blaming the studio again with no proof

ummm sony is known for making a lot of creatively bankrupt decisions. go look at any of the leaked emails or the dark tower or the amazing spiderman movies or literally what they're doing to venom as proof for that.

even though it seems you're really triggered by my use of the word stubborn

no it's just a really dumb thing to say.

unfortunately, you seem to have a problem with my opinion for some reason.

i explained to you why refn doesn't want to do blockbusters, apparently the only thing you're able to say is "oh he's stubborn for not wanting to do something that doesn't appeal to him"
