Todays patchnotes 27/12

I see posts on here asking how people got better at Tarkov. The #1 thing for me personally was getting over gear fear.

I would NEVER bring anything valuable out, always using shitty guns and shit gear. The few times I would bring out nice stuff, I was so cautious, anxious and scared of losing my gear that I didn't play as I normally would. I was literally too scared to play normally with good gear, always hiding in bushes and crouch walking around. After enough raids, something clicked for me and I realized that I would never grow if I didn't change my mentality. Gradually, I stopped caring about the value of the stuff I brought out and just focused on playing smart, and it did wonders for my gameplay. I regularly bring out decked out kits and don't even fret if I die.

The key to Tarkov is understanding that you're going to die. Even on your best day, with as much preparation as possible, sometimes you get dealt a shit card. You'll lose valuable gear. But you'll also have games where you come out on top. You can always regain stuff you've lost, but only if you keep playing. Don't let the fear of losing items prevent you from using and enjoying those items, and I think you'll be better for it.
