Have you told your family you're into crypto?

Yes. Unless your family is a bunch of shitheads, why wouldn't you discuss your interests with them? I'm not preachy about it, but I've educated them about enough so that they could access my crypto if anything were to happen to me. It comes up from time to time because they care about me and my interests, just like I talk to my brother about motorcycles or my sister about gardening occasionally.

I don't understand why you would hide it unless you had some really messed up family members (e.g. selfish, drug addicts, personality disorders, etc).

One of the benefits of being an independent adult is that you can demand to be treated like one by your family. I wouldn't want to have the sort of relationship with my family where I was fearful of their judgement or let them tell me how I should be handling my finances.
