Tomb Raider (2013) is so damn awesome.

It’s enjoyable but, as a fan of the PS2 games, it was too much of a deviation from what made the series fun. I really disagree about the story - none of the older games had great stories either but they didn’t try to. This game takes itself way too seriously despite having characters with the depth of a puddle, and all of the dialogue felt cookie cutter and flat as a pancake. It has a bit more player freedom with gameplay than Uncharted did but next to none of the charm. I really think this new trilogy just suffered from an identity crisis, despite being well made. Glad you find enjoyment in it but I honestly really didn’t like these games that much.
